Sustainability Essay
Our trees are
important to the key components of sustainability in several different ways. In
reference to the three E’s our trees have an effect economically on Chico State
University because they are planted it provides more economic incentive.
Environmentally it our trees affect the area around where they are planted
making the spot more biologically diverse. Lastly our tree affect equitably
ensuring that people want to take care of our environment more because of the
beauty that the trees on campus remind us of.
Economically, the trees provide an economic boost to our school for multiple reasons. When people are attempting to choose their college to attend Chico State University’s abundance of beautiful trees on and off campus can be seen as an attractive reason to go here for school. It provides a pleasant atmosphere and is calming to be surrounded by nature for some people. Another reason is if companies were looking to develop any sort of business the addition of trees on and around Chico may cause incentive to work here. Just as like when someone debates the factors of where they want live companies are the same way.
Environmentally, our trees provide an enhanced ecosystem here on campus. We have hundreds of trees, plants, and animals on campus. The basis of the ecosystem existing on campus is because of the tree we have. It provides nesting areas for animals and proper shading for bushes and other plants to grow beneath their canopies. Also the inclusion of trees makes the air in Chico cleaner and gives the entire campus a refreshing feeling of environmental awareness. You can feel the presence of nature on campus, which gives you a reminder of the importance of sustainability in our everyday life.
Equitably, trees on campus make people reminded of the beauty in nature creating a motivation to care more about our environment. When someone lives in area, which is surrounded by natural beauty, they tend to grow a strong connection to the aspects of nature they find appealing. If someone were to destroy this is would cause they to be upset. The same idea here is if you are living on campus or in a city full of beautiful trees you are less likely to litter and destroy the environment. This is enforced even more because you are going to campus for four or more years straight seeing the beauty of where you go school and grow a connection to campus after becoming so familiar with your surroundings. If for some reason trees were to be cut down most would feel against these decisions causing people to fight for the preservation of a campus plentiful with tree they have grown to love over years of attendance.
